Design, Work

I frequently fall into the trap of being my own worst client. When it comes to self-promotion, I tend to shelve those projects time and time again. For many reasons – paying clients obviously take priority, I don’t want to spend the entire day staring at my laptop screen, I sweat the small stuff when it’s for a personal project, etc. So when 8 p.m. rolls around and I should set some additional time aside to work on my own website, I frequently find an excuse to do something else. I’m trying to be better about this, and this week my biz partner Justin and I set aside a the time finally wrap up this website.

We’re SO excited to unveil this site. This was my first real experiment with Flexbox, and while it took quite a bit of wrangling to get things operating smoothly, I am so proud of the end result. Major thanks to Chris Coyier for putting this guide to Flexbox together – it was immensely helpful to me, as was this tutorial by Dudley Storey.

Justin incorporated these hover effects into the theme, and I got to experiment with grayscaling images with CSS. It blows my mind the things we can achieve with CSS today – being able to transform images to black and white on the fly is incredible (and a huge time saver!).

Check it out, and if you want to collaborate on a website, you know where to find us!
